Happy Sunday

Tonight at dinner Grace started singing a song from Sunday School this morning.  The song is called "Deep and Wide."  The lyrics go:

          Deep and wide,
          Deep and wide,
There's a fountain flowing deep and wide.

This was Grace's version:

          "Deep and wide,
           Deep and wide,
There's a fountain running down my knee."

What a funny little girl we have...we sure do love her!

Eagle Sighting

We're back up at Sanford again until we close on our house next Wednesday (God willing).  We have  seen so much eagle activity on the lake today, it's been so cool to watch.  An immature Bald Eagle caught a fish and ate it in the neighbors' tree next door.  That was about the time I wished I had a zoom lens.  Oh well.  Crop, crop, crop.

I'm Done

I'm really hoping this was our last snow storm of 2011.  I am so tired of it.  I reluctantly took my camera outside with me to capture a few shots of Grace, Papa and Grandpa clearing off the driveway.  I debated even posting them;  I am just not inspired by anything snow related right now.  I'm ready for buds on the trees, warmer temps, and spring flowers.  Hopefully they're just a couple weeks away.

At least Dave got another snow day out of the deal...

Dave, looking rather gnome-like

Not a good day to have a broken snow blower.

At least she's happy with the snow

Cousin Time

I stumbled upon this quote and I just love it:  "A cousin is a little bit of childhood that can never be lost."  Some of my favorite memories are times spent with my cousins growing up.  I hope that Grace can have the same great memories of her cousins to look back on.  We sure made some good memories today.

It has become a March tradition to go to the Butterfly House at Dow Gardens with the Jones clan. This was our second year going as a family, and it was much more enjoyable this year than last.  Walking with a two-year old is much faster than walking with a one-year old.  We met up with my cousins, Kiersten and Kory, their kids, and my Aunt Carol and Aunt Sue.

After seeing the butterflies, we ate pizza and brownies at Aunt Carol's house before going to the dinosaur exhibit at The Center for the Arts.  Because it was after nap time, Grace got squirrely pretty fast, but we were able to see some pretty cool stuff.  I'm kinda glad dinosaurs are extinct--I can't imagine what life would be like having them roaming around.  I've got enough to worry about!

Some photos from our day....

Scary!

So glad we are able to get the kids together a few times a year. Thanks, Aunt Sue and Carol for working all the details out!  I think we all had a great time!
