Full

My memory card read "full" today.  Over 1600 photos.  Sometimes I wonder what in the world I will do with all of them.  I do try to edit as I shoot and get rid of the so-so and just-plain-bad shots, but after 21 months of Grace, I am holding onto multiple, full memory cards, thousands of photos, and I have no intention of slowing down any time soon.  I think organizing photos will be a priority this summer, before things get too out of control.  (On a side-note, my brother was able to buy Photoshop for me on the cheap, which I couldn't be more excited about.  Soon I will be able to do some real photo editing.  Yay!  Can't wait to get my little mits on it.)

Here's some recent stuff...

 Nomma's Flowers...

A little Johnny Horton in the car with Grampa...

I Love you, Dad!

In other news,
the Hummingbirds have arrived!

And, more Grace...
Because nothing says Summer like eating a popsicle in your underwear (and pumpkin hat) on the back porch.

More fun at the park...

The girl loves stones!

And I LOVE this girl...

My heart is full...

Book(s) of the Month - May 2010

Grace has been especially interested in The Potty Book this month, and, it seemed to get her motivated to take that next step in "potty learning."

Our zoo trip this weekend has all of us excited, especially Grace.  As a result, she has had a renewed interest in Sammy The Seal, a great book about a seal who leaves the zoo for the day.

Our week at-a-glance

Last week just seemed to fly by; we had a pretty eventful seven days.  Staying busy with other moms has proven very good for my psyche, and it definitely helps to break up the monotony of the week; weeks that otherwise often remind me of Groundhog Day, repeating the same scenes over and over again, day after day.

Most of the time, our weeks look a bit like this:  Mondays we have music class.  Tuesdays, I've been getting together with my friend, Vu, and her little guy, Cayden.  Wednesdays, Grace and I walk with Melissa and Avian.  Thursdays are usually spent either at home or at Nomma and Grampa's place, and ditto for Friday.  Saturday is usually our "family day," and Sunday we typically go to church and then over to Dave's parent's house for a late lunch.

This Thursday was a little different. I met a new friend, Belinda, and her son, Benjamin, at the Loon's baseball game.  Little did we know it was Kids Day and therefore, complete pandemonium.  Obnoxious kids from the greater tri-city area filled the stadium, the lawn, and more importantly, the playground.  We didn't stay long; it was a little more than we bargained for. Grace passed out cold on the ride home-way too much stimulation. We came home to a nice surprise: beautiful flowers from Nomma, left on our porch.  What a treat!  Later after a nice nap, we pulled weeds, planted the Impatients I bought at the farmer's market earlier in the week, and snuggled-up inside to watch the Muppets together-a fun treat for both of us.

Our week in pictures:

The only time I looked at the game was to take this photo

Couldn't get Grace out of her bathing suit and pumpkin hat on Tuesday...

Not even for her nap.

She's re-discovered her baby (whom she named Riley, incidentally) and Josie Kitty, too.

We've been spending lots of time outside...

Watering flowers with Nomma on Wednesday...

What a helper!

Always a little leery of the neighborhood lawnmowers...

Playing the mandolin with Grampa

I think she's got a career in country music...

Of course, our trip to the farm on Friday...

And LOTS of fun with bubbles on Saturday...

Here's to another delightfully busy week and the promise of what is sure to be a fun-filled holiday weekend to come...

Our Day on the Farm

Despite the off-and-on-again rain showers today, we had an afternoon filled with animals of all sorts.  (We even got to see our little friend, Riley, during a quick stop to Aunt Deb's garage sale.)  But, the big event of the day was our visit to the Stothard farm in Coleman.  Grace and I had never been before and we were both very excited.

Ashley, the mom, is a woman of many talents.  She sews, she quilts, she makes homemade everything, including goat's milk soaps that are amazing.  She home-schools their four children, all of whom are amazingly sweet and well-behaved.  It was a fantastic visit with a fantastic family.

Grace loved holding the guinea pigs

Walking out to the farm with Carly

Not at all sure about the goats...

Baaa!

Clinging to Granny for dear life

This one cracks me up...

Granny thought it was pretty funny too.

The goats enjoyed chasing the ducks..

"Aflaaaaaac!"

Those crazy kids!

The ducklings were so tiny and adorable!

Cute...sure, but Grace still wasn't having it.

Even this fluffy Lionhead rabbit could get no love from Grace.

Guess she's a city-girl after all...
