I feel like I've lost my blogging mojo. I've been so busy pulling my hair out over my business website (which is almost done, thankfully). My friend's husband has been working on it off and on since May. Unfortunately, it did not turn out to be what I needed for my business, so, in the last week I have re-vamped 90% of it myself, which has been really stressful for me, not being the most technical person. I'm pretty happy with how things have turned out and I'm so glad to be almost finished!
I've been praying for a while that my business would pick up and it seems like my prayer may just have been answered. I had nothing on the calendar until today, when several people responded to an ad I placed on Craigslist, one of them booking a session in October. I'm hopeful that things will pick up, especially since soccer season is winding down and Dave will be home more.
If you want to check out my new site, it's photographybykrysha.com (this page is what I'm going to change next, if I can ever figure out how).

Block Party
Sunday was our annual neighborhood block party-a first for us since we've only lived here a few months. Although we've met many of our neighbors since moving in, it was nice to get to know the ones we hadn't met yet. We have new neighbors down the street with six kids, one of whom is a little girl named Grace. Dave also realized his old department head from SVSU lives in our subdivision, too. We are blessed to have great neighbors here.
I wish I had taken photos of the amazing food at the party. There was pulled pork and grilled chicken, along with the dishes that we all brought to pass. There was popcorn and snow-cones for the kids, as well as a pinata. We also had bicycle decorating, and later, a bike parade for the kids.
Graceyn is on vacation, so Grace got to hang out with some of the other girls that she doesn't play with regularly, which was a nice change.

Farewell Summer, Welcome Fall
Although it hasn't felt like it this week, summer is definitely winding down. The days are getting shorter, and our circle, which was once filled with neighborhood kids until nine o'clock at night, is now quiet hours earlier. It's all the same to Grace, though. Popsicles, bike-rides, dips in the pool-it'll all end soon enough. For now, we're trying to make the most of every nice day outside.
The girls have been loving their bike rides lately. There are two new homes being built down the road, so every day we venture down to view the progress. Both Grace and Graceyn got new, big-girl bikes for their third birthdays. I'm kind of regretting the choice now. Grace watches the older kids and thinks she can do all the things on her bike that they do on theirs-and she can, for the most part. Darn kid.
Today we enjoyed a first taste of fall at the orchard down the road from us. Grace and I picked apples and played with Riley, the Britney Spaniel puppy that resides there. I didn't realize dogs ate apples, but apparently they do. She kept sneaking them from our basket.
I had some fun taking photos of Grace. My business has been slow lately, and it was nice to get out and do something creative again.

They kiss eachother's owies-it's the cutest thing
A beautiful night for a ride
Today Grace informed us she was
"bigger enough" to ride no-handed.

I love this vintage camera and so does Grace

Tiny Dancers
Grace and Graceyn had their first dance class last night-together, of course. It's half tap and half ballet. We've spent the last couple of days getting the necessary accessories picked out: two leotards-one black and one pink, a pair of pink tights and ballet and tap shoes. The tap shoes are hand-me-downs from Graceyn who, fortunately for us, has a size bigger feet than Grace.
When we arrived at the studio it was packed with parents waiting to pick up their kids. The girls were both excited to get in there and dance. When the door finally opened and the class that was ending came out, Grace got a little scared. Graceyn went right in by herself. I held Grace's hand, walked her in and told her she'd be fine. Then I left, taking a couple photos on my way. I didn't hear a peep from her until she came out beaming after the ballet portion to put on her tap shoes. Then she rushed back into Studio B, anxious to dance some more.
