The Muppets

It's no secret that Grace LOVES The Muppets.  She's been watching their DVDs for years now.  When she turned two, she requested to have Miss Piggy on her birthday cake.  She ended up looking more like Mr. Piggy, though.  At that time there was absolutely no Muppet paraphernalia out there to buy for her.  Now fortunately (or unfortunately) they are everywhere because of the new Muppets movie.

The three of us went last Wednesday to the first show of The Muppets on opening day.  Grace was so excited and loved it.  She actually sat through the whole thing-a first for her at the movies.  Dave and I thought it was pretty cute and entertaining, too.

Saying Goodbye

We lost Grandma Lower last week.  It was hard watching her slip away.  I wish I had spent more time with her.  God had really put it on my heart in the last month to reach out to her more.  As usual, I didn't listen very well. I thought I had more time.  I'm glad I was able to be there at the end, though, holding her hand.  I'm glad she's at peace now.

Her funeral service was yesterday.  I loved hearing Kellie read the stories from all of us grand kids and looking at all of the photos on the memory boards.  Lots of good memories.

Things will be very different without you, Grandma.  You will be missed.  I love you.

Catch-Up

It has been a busy past few weeks around here.  I've actually had clients every week for the last month or so, and have kept pretty busy editing photos as well as trying to figure out some things in Photoshop that have stumped me for a while now.

Upper respiratory infections have been making their way through our family--first me, now Grace.  On our few overlapping healthy days, we managed to do a couple of fun family outings.  One, to the baby animal farm in Freeland, and the other, to Annie with my Mom at the Midland Center for the Arts.

Annie, the movie, was a gift from Grandma and Grandpa a while ago.  Grace loves it, particularly the music, and I was so excited for her to see it come to life on the big stage.  She was pretty excited sitting in the theater when the music finally started and the curtains rose.  I got a bit teary watching her.   She even got to meet Annie and Sandy after the show and got a picture and an autograph.

Halloween 2011

This year we had more tricks than treats on Halloween.  Grace woke up with a fever yesterday, and although she was pretty spunky throughout the day, by the time we got home from trick or treating, she was shivering and not at all herself.  Despite the crud, I think she still had fun and especially enjoyed the candy eating, even when nothing else sounded good to her.

Cutest frog ever

We met up with friends Kaitlyn and Alivia, too.

Don't know who this is, but she insisted I take her picture, too.

Love these little witch costumes
